Offered is an extraordinary and exceedingly rare 15.10 ct Fancy Vivid Blue cut-cornered rectangular step-cut diamond—classified as a natural Type IIb diamond, the rarest type of colored diamond known. Type IIb diamonds contain trace amounts of boron, giving them their distinctive blue hue and remarkable conductivity. This gem was recently graded by GIA and accompanied by a special monograph report. Cut from a 39.34 ct rough diamond mined at the historic Cullinan Mine (formerly the Premier Mine) in South Africa, this stone is part of an elite class of natural blue diamonds, comparable only to the most iconic stones in history. For reference, the legendary Hope Diamond (45.52 ct) and Wittelsbach-Graff share the same Type IIb classification and gemological lineage
